Historic Adelaide pub Brighton Metro Hotel will get a new lease on life this year, with a $2.6 million renovation that will re-vamp the buffet, sports bar & gaming room. Pub operator Australian Venue Co is undertaking the renovation to restore the 175 year old pub and tailor it’s offering to the modern Brighton community. Work is currently underway in the buffet & bar, with the official re-opening slated for June this year.

The locally-loved buffet, Charlie’s Diner, will remain the star of the show, with a fresh new look, more comfortable seating & a new menu that the whole family will enjoy. The revitalised public bar, kids play area and new beer garden will create an all-day hangout for Brighton locals and sports fans.

Established in 1846, Brighton Metro Hotel has been serving the Brighton community for 175 years.

“It’s an historic pub with a unique offering, so we’re excited to breathe some new life into it. We’re designing the entire venue with the local community in mind, so we’re being careful to preserve the elements people love while also bringing in exciting new offerings and a fresh new design,” explains Chief Operating Officer, Craig Ellison.

Venue Manager Matt Rundle is looking to hire locally for the re-opening and is seeking to expand his team by adding up to 40 new jobs, with both front of house and back of house opportunities available.

The renovation is part of a move by Australian Venue Co to revitalise historic pubs across Australia and return the pubs to the local community by improving the design, fit out & offering.

Brighton Metro Hotel is slated to re-open in June 2021, but parts of the venue will remain open throughout the staged renovation.

Opening celebration plans are already underway that will see a locals’ night for the Brighton community to take a first look at the full venue reveal and take the new food & drink menus for a spin.
