Half Baked Live Music in SEQ: After a successful debut run, Half Baked returns for round two this April, bringing a stacked indie rock lineup to three Queensland pubs across the Easter long weekend, headlined by Newcastle four-piece Rum Jungle.
As festival ticket prices climb and large-scale events become harder for fans to access, a new wave of live music events is emerging that strips things back to the basics.
Positioned somewhere between a traditional festival and a venue gig, Half Baked describes itself as “not a festival, just a really sick gig.” The concept takes the best parts of festival programming, stacked lineups and big live energy, and brings them into intimate venues where audiences can experience the music up close.
Rather than multi-stage sites, long travel days and complicated planning, Half Baked focuses on one stage, no lineup clashes and great bands playing back-to-back inside iconic live music venues. The result is a show that feels like a festival bill, but with the accessibility and intimacy of a proper pub gig.
Half Baked Live Music in SEQ
The run kicks off on the Gold Coast at Burleigh Town Hotel on April 2, heads to Brisbane’s Mansfield Tavern on April 4, and wraps on the Sunshine Coast at Kings Beach Tavern Sunshine Coast on April 5.
Headliners Rum Jungle have quickly become one of Australia’s most in-demand live acts, blending raw alt-rock, surf-punk grit and indie sleaze swagger into high-energy anthems built for packed rooms. From backyard parties to sold-out tours across Australia, the UK, Europe and North America, the band’s debut album Recency Bias recently debuted at #1 on the ARIA charts.

Across the weekend, Half Baked will also spotlight emerging and fast-rising acts including Great Gable, Shag Rock, Lazy Ghosts, Vlads, Seaside, Loose Goose, and Wholesale Noise.
Half Baked gives audiences the chance to see grassroots and emerging local acts share the stage with headline bands, delivering a live show that’s as exciting and unpredictable as it is high-energy.
