Johnnie Walker B-Side Sessions At The Espy

Ghost at The Espy will launch Johnnie Walker B-Side Sessions on Friday 28 August, a free three-week series pairing vinyl discoveries from DJ Michael Koletas with a limited-edition Johnnie Walker Black Label cocktail menu.

Running from 8pm–11pm across three consecutive Fridays, the intimate sessions will see Koletas delve beyond familiar crowd favourites, spinning cult classics, overlooked tracks and unexpected selections from his record collection.

Located within The Espy, Ghost is known for its intimate setting, low-lit interiors and cocktail-led experience. Its tucked-away location complements the spirit of B-Side: seeking out something less obvious and discovering a new favourite along the way.

“Ghost has always been a place that rewards a little curiosity, so it feels like a natural home for B-Side Sessions,” said Daniel Lovett, The Espy Venue Manager. “DJ Michael Koletas sets will be about going beyond the obvious tracks and creating those moments where guests hear something unexpected, while enjoying a cocktail designed especially for the night.”

A central part of the sessions will be the expertly curated cocktails developed especially for B-Side that reveal new ways to enjoy Johnnie Walker Black Label. Exclusive B-Side Sessions cocktails, all $26:

  • The Kuro Melody – a potent mix of Johnnie Walker Black Label, triple sec, strawberry, orange bitters and lemon
  • The Whisky Track – Johnnie Walker Black Label, junmai sake, herbal liqueur, gingerbread, orange bitters and lime
  • The Ronan Reserve – collabs sweet and sour with Johnnie Walker Black Label, umeshu, rosso vermouth, aromatic bitters and plum
  • Vinyl Highball – a spin on the classic with Johnnie Walker Black Label, agave, grapefruit bitters, yuzu, soda and shiso

While Ghost at The Espy hosts the Melbourne edition, Johnnie Walker B-Side Sessions will also take over Rekōdo at Barangaroo House in Sydney, with both cities hosting recurring event series celebrating music discovery, expertly crafted cocktails and distinctive late-night venues.
