Multi-sensory restaurant Shelly is to open on 5th November. The team behind Melbourne’s two-month waitlist dining sensation Shelanous in Port Melbourne is set to open a spectacular sister restaurant, Shelly, in Caulfield.
Shelanous was an immediate hit when it opened in early 2024 and the restaurant has attracted diners from all walks of life, including Katy Perry, who ensured she visited while in Melbourne.
Like Shelanous, Shelly will take guests on a multi-sensory journey through a 10-course degustation menu with matching beverages. But, while the philosophy remains the same, the setting and menu will be quite different.
Shelly will be bigger, more powerful and, if it is even possible, more high energy! There will be a Sense Bar, a 30-seat dining room and dazzling starlight ceiling – creating a grander setting ideal for both intimate dining and private events. And, uniquely to Shelly, limited walk-ins will be available.
Shelly promises to serve up a breathtaking immersive show-style dining experience balancing storytelling, the highest quality food, and fun. The delectable dishes will be fully kosher-certified and halal friendly and guests can look forward to a trust the Chef mini degustation menu.
The convivial experience of a shared table ensures adds to guests ending the evening having had one of the best, and most unique dining experiences of their lives, as well new friends.

“The demand for Shelanous since opening has been overwhelming,” said Rony Parienty, co-owner and chef of Shelanous and Shelly. “We’re constantly booked out two months in advance and we love seeing people enjoy the experience we deliver alongside the great food and drinks.
But, with a waiting list this long, we knew it was time to open another location. Opening Shelly in Caulfield will not only allow us to meet demand, but also create a whole new high energy experience for our guests. We can’t wait to welcome people when we start this new chapter.”
With storytelling, flavour, flamboyance and fun at its heart, Shelly is set to ignite dining in Melbourne’s inner south-east.
