One of Australia’s largest hospitality groups asked Sense Communications to work on their summer activation in Melbourne – Summertime Social in Federation Square.

We were responsible for the media relations campaign, not just to launch the activation but to keep media talking throughout the summer.

Sense Communications also coordinated and managed the guest list for a media launch. This was attended by nearly 100 guests and resulted in many social media posts and stories across different audiences.

We also managed an influencer campaign. This ensured different audiences were told about the great food, drink and activities throughout the activation.

About Summertime Social

Summertime Social is transforming Fed Square’s Skyline Terrace into the city’s biggest rooftop playground.

Melbourne’s pop up backyard is the best place to party with mates or chill out with a drink this summer. Offering custom-built, bookable lane games, as well as a grassy communal lawn.

Summertime Social is the ultimate spot to kick back and relax in the sunshine with eats drinks, and free lawn games.

UberEats sensation Dirty Birdie will be there, plus wood-fired pizzas and an ice-cream cart. Picnic baskets are perfect for friends and family who want it all!

The communal lawn will play host to the Battle of the Giant Games (1–5 pm) on Sundays, with an MC, prizes and live music. Friday and Saturdays will see a DJ playing (5–10 pm) and Sundays will offer an acoustic soloist (1–4 pm).

A full line-up of family scheduling is soon to be unveiled.
