Turkish Delight Takes Over At Food Voyageur: Food Voyageur owner and chef Rachithri ‘Rachi’ Fernandopulle has used her recent travels in Turkey to inspire her seasonal, limited edition cupcake this spring. Plus an accompanying drink that is sure to be the latest must-have this season. Unique treats Melburnians will not find anywhere else.
In-store from Saturday 20th September, the Turkish Delight Cupcake and Rose Pistachio Milkshake is Rachi’s way of bringing a taste of Turkey to Melbourne.
Turkish Delight Takes Over At Food Voyageur
“Turkey is a country where food is deeply tied to culture,” says Rachi. “Every bite tells a story of history, celebration and connection. From wandering through the bustling spice bazaars of Istanbul to sipping rose-infused drinks under the Mediterranean sun, I was captivated by the richness of flavours. That’s what inspired me to create these two limited-edition treats.”
Turkish Delight Cupcake
The latest limited edition cupcake to be baked at Food Voyageur – the Turkish Delight Cupcake – appears as a delicate dessert. Each bite is a taste of Turkey and the popular Turkish sweet as the layers come together like a rose Turkish Delight in cake form, fragrant, nutty, soft and indulgent.
The cupcake is made with a delicious vanilla sponge that allows the other flavours to pop. It is filled with a creamy pistachio centre, a nod to one of Turkey’s most loved nuts. To evoke the fragrance of the iconic Turkish Delight, it’s crowned with a swirl of rose and almond buttercream. And to finish, the cupcake is topped with a crumb of pistachio and a jewel of Turkish Delight sourced from the Hafiz Mustafa sweet shop in Turkey.

Move over matcha, the Rose Pistachio Milkshake is here! It’s spring/summer in a glass – with real rose flavour and a pistachio foam on top that’s inspired by the Mont Blanc dessert, but with a Turkish twist.
Smooth, fragrant and refreshing, the milkshake serves up creaminess, nuttiness and florals all at once. Made with rose water, milk, and pistachio cream that is whipped and poured generously over the top, it transports the drinker from Melbourne to a Turkish cafe.
