Mark your diaries as you will not want to miss this… From Tuesday 24th to Sunday 29th August, Mister Bianco restaurant in Kew will be celebrating truffles by giving diners the opportunity to experience a truffle farm – in the restaurant!
As a part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival, owner Joe Vargetto will be bringing the country to metro Melbourne and with it some of the very best truffles. Giuseppe’s Cooking School at Mister Bianco will be transformed to a truffle farm with soil, trees and a truffle hunt. Guests will be able to meet truffle farmer Robert Utter of Buxton Truffles and his dog to learn about the growing and hunting process before they watch the truffle dog find a truffle. All in the comfort of the restaurant.
Wednesday to Saturday evenings and Thursday & Friday lunches will offer a delectable Prix Fixe menu with a truffle focus.
Tuesday 24th August will see the Truffle Farm & Gala Dinner. Guests can experience the truffle farm, along with a five-course truffle-centric degustation menu with matching wines. On Sunday 29th August, Mister Bianco will open for a Truffle Farm & Lunch event at 12.30pm. Priced $103 per person, the set sharing menu will include antipasti, truffle pasta and risotto, delicious Porchetta and cannoli to finish – accompanied by wine and coffee.
