Back for its 23rd instalment, Big Gay Day has announced its 2023 line-up and festival-goers will not be
disappointed with the rainbow of performers taking to the stage. The annual festival hosted by the
newly renovated The Wickham in Fortitude Valley will take place on Sunday the 1st of October.
One of the largest LGBTQIA+ street festivals in the city, Big Gay Day is not to be missed with a
fabulous line-up of pop stars, drag queens, musicians and DJs. This all-inclusive event has something
for everyone.

The event will close an inner-city street outside The Wickham Hotel for its main stage with the
fabulous Paul Wheeler as host – a regular MC at The Wickham’s weekly events and a much-loved
member of Brisbane’s LGBTQIA+ community.
“Big Gay Day is a day for the LGBTQIA+ and wider community to come together and enjoy amazing
acts and raise money for charities that really make a difference. Last year was the biggest Big Gay
Day in its history, we sold out and raised $10,000 for charity. We are looking forward to this year
being even bigger!” said Kelly Harrison, The Wickham Venue Manager.
This year, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Australian Transgender Support
Association of QLD (ATSAQ) and LGBTQ Domestic Violence Awareness Foundation.
