Tequila Bar by Mejico is set to open! The new late-night venue is located above Mejico, one of Melbourne’s best Mexican restaurants on Pink Alley in Melbourne’s CBD, and the modern, vibrant space will throw open its doors on November 3rd.
Tequila Bar by Mejico will offer a unique drinking experience for Melburnians, serving up one of the finest and largest selections of tequila and mezcal in Australia with over 250 varieties on offer.
A unique city destination for evening catch-ups with friends and colleagues to early hour sessions, Tequila Bar by Mejico will serve food and beverages from 9pm until 3am, Thursday to Saturday.
Showcasing a signature tequila and mezcal cocktail list for guests to choose from, the bar will also offer a selection of tasty late-night eats such as Daylesford Beef Brisket Empanadas, Jalapeño Poppers, Chicharrones (Mexican pork crackling bites), Blistered Tomato & Pineapple Salsa with Blue Corn Chips and Guacamole with Chilli, Coriander & Plantain Chips.
Whether a post-dinner drink or an all-night meet-up, guests will enjoy being able to order a selection of rare and hard-to-find tequila and mezcal drops from the drinks list, like the 7 Leguas d’Antano Extra Anejo Tequila (aged 7 years) and the full range of El Jolgorio Mezcal (made from a rare species of agave). A wide selection of wines, beers, and sangria by the glass or jug will also be available.
Situated on the second floor of the two-storey city venue, the intimate Tequila Bar by Mejico and cocktail lounge will cater to around 40 guests. The decor is full of black, pink and wood accents with design features including sleek concrete flooring, circular patterned designs, oversized woven lampshades hanging from a slanted ceiling, plus an Instagrammable pink neon ‘Hola’ sign, which is sure to be a hit with visitors. Windows on either side of the space provide views of the restaurant and laneway below.
“We are so excited to open the doors to our Tequila Bar,” says General Manager Marcus Radny. “We always intended to use the upstairs area for Tequila Bar by Mejico but the pandemic delayed our plans.
“When Tequila Bar by Mejico opens on the 3rd November Melburnians and visitors to the city will have a lively late night venue to visit that will offer one of the best, and most extensive, tequila and mezcal lists as well as food until the early hours.”
Operator Hicks Hospitality engaged One68 to fit out the venue and they just won the IFA Victorian Interior Fitout of the Year 2020-2022 Award for Mejico and INDU. The bright neons and fun fit-out are conducive to the Mejico offering and the late-night party vibes that Tequila Bar by Mejico is looking to bring to the city.
With a delicious menu serving up tasty Mexican fare and cocktails that pack a punch until 3am, Tequila Bar by Mejico will be the new must-visit city destination for Melburnians.
