A new era on Cotham Road for the Kew institution!
The beloved Mister Bianco restaurant has opened in Kew, beginning a brand new era in a new location at 26-28 Cotham Road.
For nearly 13 years, diners enjoyed owner/chef Joe Vargetto’s contemporary influence on Sicilian flavours on High Street, but it was time to grow.
Now, the stunning, expansive venue with new menu direction is sure to be the icing on the cake for Kew’s resurgence as a dining hotspot in Melbourne.
The new Mister Bianco building hosts three distinct hospitality spaces – Mister Bianco restaurant, La Sala functions and events and upcoming Bianchetto bar – all designed by Mills Gorman Architects.
Mister Bianco restaurant is a spacious yet convivial dining room with open bar and kitchen on the ground floor. Leather banquettes and amber glass create a contemporary vibe and the semi-private dining area, ideal for group bookings, is located close to the kitchen. Mister Bianco is all about a lifestyle where the community can come together and enjoy great food, drinks, music and style.
The menu is full of delicious, produce-forward Italian dishes with all roads leading to Sicily and guests are sure to want to return time and time again.
Dishes are inspired by Sicily, with some retaining traditions and some letting Joe Vargetto’s creativity shine through. Diners embark on a food journey with delicious breads straight out of the wood fired bread oven including Focaccia, Sfincione (Sicilian style thick pizza) and Impanate (mini Sicilian pasties), bite sized snacks that are eaten with fingers and antipasti that’s perfect to share.
For mains, the best steaks and fish are cooked in the wood fired grill while the rotisserie over wood coals creates delicious whole free-range chicken and porchetta. Of course, mains such as cotoletta, eggplant parmigiana and pastas have a presence and dessert lovers are not disappointed as Mister Bianco’s famous tiramisu makes its return alongside other Italian favourites.
All accompanied by a curated wine list to suit any occasion.
La Sala is the upstairs functions space. Consisting of two rooms that can be combined, La Sala caters for both seated and standing functions from 20 to up to approx. 130 people. Perfect for celebrations such as Christmas parties, end of year, weddings, birthdays, baptisms and anniversaries as well as corporate functions, conferences and product launches, La Sala at Mister Bianco is the perfect destination for any event.
La Sala will also host Giuseppe’s Cooking school with demonstration dinners and hands-on classes, which will also be available for private event bookings.
